Oversized coating

Dramatically oversized silhouettes are, huge this Fall. Sharp tailoring and cropped sleeves balance the voluminous proportions of this red coat to keep the look chic rather than sloppy.

For the past couple of seasons, there is a new focus of what I called “feminine rock chic” – a combination of flirty styles mixed with a tough Rock and Roll attitude. I’m no longer the girl next door! I’m a strong beautiful woman who is independent and not afraid to express herself.

When it comes to fashion ONE thing will always remain true:

It’s not what you wear, it’s HOW you wear it!

And in fact a lot in Fashion today has to do with having great taste and personal style. The rise of the effortlessly cool outfits, the urban glam, sporty-luxe looks are all results of the new style mesh that’s going on right now. The old with the new, the posh with the casual, the retail with the high end. They’re all coexisting in perfect harmony.

Style is what we have regardless of where we’re going and what we’re wearing! Making a basic casual turtleneck look more expensive turned for me into a fashion challenge today. The Turtlenecks are the simple items that can bring together so many looks. So many times I’ve gone shopping for God knows what and ended up in wholesale clothing for women sections digging up for tiny treasures. Great affordable items are always good to go with the more expensive ones. You can make them look so polished paired with great accessories. Such is the case of my simple white turtleneck from River Island.

So how do we make casual clothes look more expensive? It’s all about details and accessories. ANY simple top – sweater, jersey top, t-shirt, blouse, can immediately look chic and dressy with a great styling. Sometimes even a pop of red lips will do the trick. I love pairing casual clothes with more statement pieces or luxurious ones.  A classic knit or jersey top looks fantastic with a leather mini skirt, red hot heels and a statement oversized coat, like seen in Anthony Vaccarello Fall 2015 Fashion Show. Seeing the Anthony Vaccarello Fall 2014/15 collection, I have decided that:

“this is the kind of girl I want to be and that’s kind of girl any man want to hang out with!”

So, today I decided to show you that masculine/feminine look, bringing together a black leather mini skirt with zippers and a classic white turtleneck. I really wanted a tomboy silhouette, an oversized coat thrown over something really short and tight. The look it’s very Caroline de Maigret, like when she throws a man’s biker jacket on, mixing rock and roll glam with Parisian cool. And my new Anya Hindmarch leather bag was the one accessory that set out my style mood for this outfit.

I advice you on THE OUTNET.COM – to Shop totes!

What makes a leather mini skirt suddenly so versatile though? Slap one on and you’ll see. Instant hotness, empowerment and sleek sophisticated vibe all over you. It gives both a certain trendiness and luxe, mixed with the coolness of a rock-star. And frankly anything looks good paired with it, especially when you put on some pointed red pumps and you threw over an oversized coat.

I like the idea of the oversized trend sticking around for Fall mainly because it’s the best way to hide an extra few pounds. The coats that walked the runways this season were oversized and menswear-inspired. One thing is certain!

Qversized blazers have never been so hot, and they’re not going anywhere!

The bigger the better!
