John Galliano SS16 at PFW

The third day of Paris Fashion Week meant a great time for me! Paris has been a whirl of excitement for me! I totally love this city. The people, the architecture, the lifestyle…everything is just amazing. Need to come back! As Fashion Week it’s over now, I’m home writing about what happened there.

Especially about Galliano fashion show held at Palais de Tokyo!

I was so excited to see for the first time a big fashion show Live. John Galliano SS16 Fashion Show was definitely the best what happened during my time in Paris.

From the shows I actually attended my favorite was of course, John Galliano who was long applauded by the public. A French fusion ran free at John Galliano with brogues, feathered helmets and lace.

After being out for a while, it was finally the time for John Galliano return to the worlds fashion capital, Paris! The SS16 Collection is inspired by his roots in Great Britain, as we saw several references to British history, hardened with a military inspiration and a rock ‘n’ roll edge. John Galliano portrays an unique mixture of British rock uniforms, intimate lace and artistic frills.

As the models walk down the runway we see lots of blazers and trousers with strong lines, creating a powerful and edgy feel. The collection begins with a simple palette of black, navy and whites which continues with royal blue and mustard yellow. The cuts are perfectly tailored to the female body and the materials follow flawlessly. On the other hand, we also see a lot of delicate transparent lace with subtle embellishments. These inherently feminine designs are edged up with Brit-inspired helmets on selected models, flat shoes and a badass attitude. I think they matched perfectly with the slick masculine cut trousers which sit on the hip bone.

Other notable designs are the romantic frothy dresses with a deep V-neck and the long organza dresses, with several Brit-inspired checkered suits. The most eye-catching motive was the use of polka dots, which can be found in most of the outfits. John Galliano SS16 inspired me to a more edgier, looser aesthetic and therefore my outfits it will evolve in this direction. I really like this British eclectic style!

Since Gaytten took up his residency after Galliano himself departed from the Fashion House, he has been known for his take on 60’s fashion which has been forgotten in the last years. When The Beatle’s classic, ‘Twist and Shout’ fired up over the SS16 catwalk, it would have been anyone’s guess that he was at it again. Even if there were so many 60’s references in his designs, it’s very discreet. However, he managed to create a modern collection with some past proven successes.

And I really loved the studded leather biker jacket…!

Do let me know which one of these looks is your favorite, so curious to hear about it!

I am happy to share with you this outfit I wore during John Galliano SS16, as well as the shots from the shows. That day I choose a sequined trench from Silvia Serban SS16, a pair of straight pants and my gorgeous heels from Why Denis. Who said sparkles can be seen only during the night?

When I first saw this spectacular sequined piece, I simply fell in love with its playful colors. If you want to have a similar one you must visit Silvia Serban showroom. She is one of my favorites Romanian designers.

Seeing Live John Galliano show was so amazing! And I was so thrilled to finally meet Romanian Blogger Doina Ciobanu – (The Golden Diamonds) who was also attending John Galliano fashion show. We changed some impressions and took some pictures together.

Paris Fashion Week was crazy and I really have to thank all the amazing street style photographers for my photos. Rushing in between shows I barely have time to take any of my own photos.

Need to come back soon!
