For Fall Winter 2016-17, Elisabetta Franchi took us through a wonderful world of style adventure.
Just like the French Heroine, the ELISABETTA FRANCHI woman of the coming season conceals her femininity beneath the severe shapes of the military style, while revealing her secret weapons of seduction in the details.
The fashion show offered by Elisabetta Franchi on the third day of Milan Fashion Week
was absolutely amazing from the music to the stylish outfits.
Above you have some pictures from the show with my favorites looks.
I cannot choose just one favorite from her collection because I want to wear them all.
I’ve always been an admirer of Elisabetta Franchi, but mostly of her personality because she always been active with several projects in support of animals. She is an extraordinary member of LAV, fighting against public financing of circuses in order to save hundreds of defenseless animals.
Her entire Fall Winter 2016-17 collection features clothing produced entirely without materials of animal origin. All the items include on <<Animal Free>> line. She used only eco-friendly furs and feathers, dresses, tops and skirts made with artificial leather, as well as handbags and small accessories. For each item in the line, one euro will be donated to LAV to support the important projects undertaken by the association.
For all these things she’s got a standing ovation at the end of her fashion show and it was well worth it.
To support this battle, she also decided to launch two Special T-shirts with clear messages that make an unequivocal statement against this type of animal exploitation.
<<Circus is not fun for animals>> and even <<Animals are not clown>> is the appeal launched by the designer to raise awareness and expose the cruelty hidden behind the circus spectacles. These Special T-shirts are available from February 27 at the Milan Boutique and online.
Elisabetta Franchi is the creator of a perfectly crafted Ready to Wear collection that owes its success to her style and a particular production strategy based on the “Made in Italy” concept, on quality, excellence and care for details. This is how, in a little over a decade, Elisabetta Franchi has become one of the most successful next-generation brands in the world of fashion.
Her Fall Winter 2016-17 collection is created in the unique style of the Maison but with respect to the animal kingdom.
Colors and shapes are inspired by the magic of Cirque du Soleil, being ironically combined with rigorous gendarmerie details taken from the previous uniforms worn by the bodyguards of Marie Antoinette.
The shapes of the stage costumes have provided the inspiration for cropped jackets and boleros, defined by their large shoulders. The maxi buttons and golden cords give a reminiscent of a regimental genre. The forms caress the body, with super skinny or ankle-cropped trousers and skirts, rigorously high-waisted.
The mood is characterized by circus tent-inspired geometric patterns, as well as multicolour regimental stripes and tartan motifs. The prints feature numerous animalier proposals, which are made with ecological solutions in order to suggest an aggressive yet animal-friendly mood. The giraffe’s mane and the python’s scales evoke the sophisticated femininity of a true animal tamer.
The color palette has been enriched with intense shades of blue, combined with the timeless red lacquer. The new entries include a lively orange tangerine and military green, as well as more natural shades like tobacco, ivory, and honey. The key accessories are the fringed heels, studs, cuissard boots and clutch bags.
Now about my outfit from that evening.
That day the weather got extremely cold and I couldn’t leave the house without my fur coat from Paisi. During Fashion Weeks, I try to plan each and every outfit. Otherwise, it’s just impossible to bring everything with me and figure out what to wear when I’m there. Of course, I change my mind sometimes, but on the whole, the outfits remain as I scheduled them.
For that evening I planned to wear just Mathis Leather, a yellow skirt and a black jacket with fringes, accessorized with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and my new Chanel Boy Bag. Unfortunately, the weather was playing tough and forced me to take my fur coat with me.
You know the most difficult part isn’t even the day wear, but the evening looks that include party and casual (or the “touristic” ones for walking kilometers) clothing. These should be both comfortable and stylish, different, but also balanced.
