Wintery cape

Today I’m dreaming of a white Christmas in my Wintery Cape…

There is something sure right now, winter is already here in Bucharest. That’s great but we all wish a white Christmas also…What we really should be focusing on until then is a certain sartorial choice, that just goes hand in hand with a white Christmas. A WHITE Cape! We’ve already established that pretty much everything is hot and hip these days, but each season there is one item that stands out. And this season belongs to Wintery Capes for me…

If you are looking for a highly stylish alternative to a coat than a Wintery Cape is just it! A cape is bold, mysterious and not to mention practical. It adds the right amount of drama and can be easily slung over your fall or winter outfit.

Happy 1st of December everyone! Happy birthday Romania!

Happy birthday dear Romanian people!

I hope you all Had a quiet day, beautiful and full of smiles!

We are finally in December, the most special month of the year, which promises to be full of surprises and gifts. Precisely for this reason, I thought today is the perfect day to show you some inspiration for a stylish outfit in the spirit of the wonderful winter holidays. The star of today’s outfit is the White Cape – One must have item we all need this Winter in our wardrobe!

If the robe coat or wooly shearling isn’t for you, test a more refined piece like a Wintery Cape. Wear it over a dress to add polish to your evening look, or with jeans, a chunky knit, and riding boots for a chic weekend ensemble. The cape is the outerwear piece of choice for Fall/Winter 2014. It provides an alluring cocoon with echoes of the fairytale trend, seen at Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana.

WHY pick a white cape? Because it looks rich. Glamorous. Refined and sophisticated. Something about a white long coat, an all-white look or a classic wintery cape over any colored outfit – screams impeccable style in the cold season. It looks as if you’re this rich socialite, celeb, business woman who dresses regardless of the grey season, but according to luxurious moods and expensive fabrics. A pair of long leather gloves and a brimmed hat always works so fabulous with a wintery cape with midi sleeves. Very retro chic!

How to style a Wintery Cape?

Now we’re on to something. While white is a non-color, neutral shade, meaning theoretically it goes with anything, truth is white capes look best over an all-white or all-black outfit, over jeans and a basic top, or over monochromatic looks. When it’s done right, a cape can be kind of cool!

You don’t have to be a caped crusader to rock the Wintery Cape. I just bought my white version from H&M and I’m wearing it every day. Depending on where you want to wear a cape determines the type you ultimately end up purchasing. There are so many styles available now that you can definitely find one to call your own. Remember to keep your outfit under the cape somewhat tight. Since a cape does make you appear top heavy, wear your cape with cozy tights or leggings and knee-high boots. The leather leg effect is great and it looks like a continuous one piece.

To achieve that look today, I decided to combine my favorite nude turtleneck with black leggings and riding boots. As I didn’t want to complicate the look, my white wintery wool cape was the perfect match. I just finished with a burgundy hat and Anya Hindmarch bag. Voila! I’ve put together some images for a little inspiration…

It’s just a case of wearing something I love and feel happy, confident and warm in!

Let’s embark on a new crusade together!
