You don’t need to be a skier to look like one this Fall/Winter. Aspen Chic is the latest trend to dress casually and chic, both on and off the slopes.
Winter is upon us and pretty soon will start to snow! Though I am not a big fan of winter, I must say there are some things that I really like about this season, especially the winter sports.
Fair Isle prints, chunky sweaters and oversize hats reminds me of the fireside chats and brimming goblets of rose wine. The Alpine-style sweaters has made their big return this season on the Fall/Winter 2014-2015 runways, updated to suit both the city and the mountain. I took these pictures at the beginning of Fall in the park. Leaves on the ground, trees going to sleep, windy cool weather, hands freezing on a rushed cold morning and me starring in this beautiful scenery made me feel like a cute girl lost in the woods.
Something about the way we dress makes this season and us with it, look like a scene from our favorite film. Doesn’t this sweater just SCREAM cozy fall weekends, fireplaces, hot chocolates, snowy mornings in the mountains and Christmas mood? As soon as I put it on, all I wanted to do was head to a cabin in and relax with a good book and a cup of mulled wine after a full day of skiing.
The key piece in this athletic, Aspen chic look is my chunky patterned sweater. There are plenty of styles to choose from this season, but patterns give your casual wardrobe pizzazz. Colorful, cozy knitwear doesn’t just banish winter chills! These sweaters and cardigans have a sense of fun that gets everyone in the festive spirit. They remind me of my childhood days and cute girly things, when I was fixated on fluffy pink sweaters of angora and cashmere. During the years my passion for pink has faded away a little bit, but I definitely love this seasonal come back of the sweaters. All kind of sweaters, especially the alpine ones, cable knits and northern woolens became a MUST HAVE this year.
Today’s Aspen Chic look made me feel like curling up in front of a roaring fire. My sweater looked more edgy worn with this short skirt from Zara and these white long booties from Tommy Hilfiger. The best accessory that I could use to complement my look is a cute H&M woolen hat.
When we Talk about Fashion it’s important to know what works best for you! You need to know what you feel the most confident and comfortable in. After years of trying so many different styles, I’m confident now in what I truly love when it comes to picking clothes.
Along the way, I hope to inspire others to do the same!
I’m sure that my Aspen Chic look is a perfect illustration of what I’m saying!
