I was so honored to attend my first Vivetta Fall/Winter 2017-18 fashion show on the second day of Milan Fashion Week. VIVETTA is a new fashion label from Milan created by Vivetta Ponti.
The VIVETTA girl lives in a sugar-coated surrealist world, always looking to the past for style inspiration.
Immediately after Fendi, I rushed over to the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia, to see a colorful and beautiful fashion show.
I brought full-on glamour with a statement Fur Coat. I was unsure at first because it was SO bold, but I was so happy that I went with this look because I have never felt more confident! I belted the coat with a black leather belt to really cinch everything together. Strong, powerful, fierce!
Vivetta 17-18 Fall-Winter collection is inspired by the joyous, eccentric atmosphere of the circus from the 1940’s. Vivetta new collection blends vintage-inspired prints with sharp tailoring for a youthful look.
The retro feel of the items seen on the runway – from knee-length trousers to laced bodices – is balanced by a contemporary style that focuses on delivering something new.
The star of the coming Vivetta fall-winter 17/18 is the geometric print that colors overcoats. It becomes precious marquetry on the maxi and welcoming fur. Also the all-over print-logo on, dresses and skirts: a V with a flower and a hand, the leitmotiv symbol that returns with every collection. This year, surreal art deco prints are back too. Embroidery and patterns set the scene of the circus from the last century, made from velvet curtains, studded with Swarovski, opened to reveal wild animals, or unmistakable “Vivettan” harlequins. Even Pierrot characters, sad but colorful, who appear on denim trousers or in the place of heels on coral red high boots.
The entire collection presented a great attention to detail. The flowers embroidery is meticulously done by hand in every size and color. From the tiniest flowers that adorned heavily dresses in tulle, to the maxi ones in velvet that downplay even the most imposing of jackets. For a fairytale dress, though, just look for those in a shower of bright Swarovski.
Next to the hallmark fabrics in every Vivetta collection, poplin, tulle, soft velvet and vinyl materials make their entrances, featured in a series of bold feminine items, short jackets with collars, trousers, and shorts in strong. I’ve seen many saturated shades like red, green and blue. The maxi-stripe items in contrasting colors are shimmed like the knee-length skirts and boleros with the unmistakable faces in double crepe.
Vivetta Fall/Winter 17-18 color palette is even richer with new, unusual tones. Not just pastel colors but also block colors like purple, coral red, cobalt blue, field green, combined with the faintest pinks and greens.
The collection featured Vinyl boots with a “Pierrot” heel, clogs with ponies, ballerinas in patent leather with buckle-logo. The accessories to wear with small jewels are an indispensable must-have and a touch of Vivetta to carry wherever you go. Hats by Super Duper and Super glasses by Retrosuperfuture.
It was such a colorful, happy and energizing show!
At one one point, all I wanted to do was just to get up and dance! I really love that quality about Vivetta. The entire collection was about celebrating and enjoying life.
