The BalmainArmy took over Paris Fashion Week!
#BalmainArmy was Rousteing’s hashtag on 1’st of October. And he conquered the world with his new collection!
The BalmainArmy it’s a real POWERFUL thing and you can see it in Olivier Rousteing runway show who opened Paris Fashion Week. And because I love BALMAIN House and I can’t wait to see his new H&M collaboration going on sale next month, today I want to show you some highlights of his Spring Summer collection that really impressed me. Olivier’s 15-minutes presentation was designed to create strong impressions and reactions, like always! But I’m sure that the new #HMBalmaination will make a mark in the next upcoming months and will bring the designer vision to the high street. I think you already know that Balmain is H&M’s Latest Designer Collaborator. So, prepare to meet the most luxurious high-street pieces you’ve ever seen, on the 5th of November.
In a season where female power and strength have served up more than a few memorable moments, BALMAIN SS16 felt like a celebration of fierce femininity. Because Sexy is always right for Olivier Rousteing and Yes, he does believe in full-on, fierce dressing. “I am designing for today’s modern global woman.” he has declared. “She doesn’t belongs to just one place. She’s glamorous, confident, sexy, strong! She is not afraid. This woman is Balmain as well as BalmainxH&M.”
That the way I’m feeling too! I’m a Strong, Sexy and Real Woman who is not afraid to show her femininity in these kind of dresses! I have this Bombshell Body and I’m so proud of it…at my age!
You would never expect beige at Balmain I know!
This season Olivier Rousteing sent his #balmainarmy into neutral territory with unexpected shades, fabrics and silhouettes.
Olivier Rousteing’s Spring ’16 Balmain debut wasn’t just a runway show, it was an extravaganza!
With models like Kendall Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Alessandra Ambrosio, Jourdan Dunn and Doutzen Kroes creating serious #SquadGoals backstage and on the catwalk, we had a lot more to be envious of than just their sexy outfits. They are all friends and hang out together with the young designer Olivier Rousteing. They hit shows together by day and parties by night. The season’s biggest faces are offering another sign of bombshell solidarity on the day’s runway, courtesy of designer Olivier Rousteing’s vision?
Olivier Rousteing’s Balmain show has become such a magnet for fans and paparazzi that the police shut down the street outside the entrance to his Hotel Intercontinental venue that day. Of all the designers presenting during Paris Fashion Week, none is as social media savvy as Balmain’s youthful creative director, Olivier Rousteing. Maybe is not so famous as the Kardashian clan, but few designers can touch him. Only Jeremy Scott and Riccardo Tisci come close.
The 29-year-old designer showed his atest collection on 1’st of October during Paris Fashion Week to a live audience but also a virtual one via Snapchat [@balmainofficial]. His collection is absolutely fabulous and the fabrics used in are gorgeous. The accessories were kept minimal, as not to take away from the WOW factor of the looks. Rousteing toned down the color this season to focus on shades of nude, but there was no equivalent dialing-back of the embellishments that have weighed down his recent collections. The macramé in crystals or beads was as full-on as ever and the tiered ruffles were even more flamboyant than last season’s. All the silhouettes were super clingy, loaded with cutouts and sheer paneling and cinched with waist belts. For the show he requested matching, uniformly slick, high, swingy ponytails.“It’s long, smooth, and poker-straight. She’s sexy, yes, but she’s really more of a warrior,” said hairstylist Sam McKnight, who was crafting the look using hair extensions and handfuls of mousse brushed into the roots. Olivier’s vision is focused and singular. He’s one of the few designers not to work with a stylist or muse, like Karl Lagerfeld does with Amanda Harlech, for example. He says his team is predominantly female, and his main influence is the world of music. This is what drives his aesthetic. Olivier Rousteing is a feminist. What he does is about the power of women, the way they are winning in the world and the balls they have!
One of them is Joan Smalls who appeared down the runway in short, stretchy green suede, the show’s best look and one of my favorites.
And after the show, the models marched onward to Lapérouse for celebrating with Olivier.
Good Job Olivier Rousteing! Next year I hope to see your show Live!
