Another escape has been on my mind lately,
I really need a holiday and another trip in Europe to recharge my batteries! And now I have the chance to take a weekend off and visit Vienna again after six years. I’m sure it will be unforgettable, because during spring Vienna is so beautiful. You can see more of my travels around the world on my website including my last article about why you should visit Istanbul during winter.
Summer holiday feels a lifetime away so until then I decided for a citybreak in Europe.
I was really busy from the beginning of this year. For me every day is another adventure but also makes it a great reason to travel away from… While I’ve been working in my office it’s been a help to daydream even for a few minutes. This little escape is just the medicine I need… though a return to Thailand or Carribean would be pretty magical too.
My 6 Quotes to inspire an escape…
“Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, maybe you should set up a life you don’t need to escape from.” – Seth Godin
“If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine, it is lethal.” – Paulo Coelho
“The difficulty lies not so much in developing new ideas as in escaping from old ones.” – John Maynard Keynes
“Paradise was always over there, a day’s sail away. But it’s a funny thing, escapism. You can go far and wide and you can keep moving on and on through places and years, but you never escape your own life. I, finally, knew where my life belonged. Home.” ― J. Maarten Troost
“People talk about escapism as if it’s a bad thing…Once you’ve escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn’t have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality.” ― Neil Gaiman
“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.” — Terry Pratchett
It’s pretty wonderful how the right series of words, in the right order, can completely change your perspective. I always feel lighter of mind when I view things in a new way.
It would be great to go back to Instabul and relive those moments. But I may as well just view my last post about it and be inspired for another escape. For now my memories and the prospect of what’s next is enough…
See you next weekend in Vienna!
